“With fire seasons growing longer and more dangerous, we can’t afford to wait,” said Patel. “This investment protects lives by mitigating fuel loads and strengthening defenses before the next fire threatens our community. I’m proud to return taxpayer dollars to San Diego to proactively safeguard schools, homes, and high-risk areas.”

The wildfire funding is part of $10 million in state investments Patel secured for District 76 this year, focused on wildfire safety and strengthening community spaces. Her focus on community safety also includes AB 841, which modernizes firefighter equipment and protections, and supports efforts to expand statewide wildfire preparedness.
