The $5.7 million Rancho Bernardo Community Park improvement project currently underway officially received $2.5 million more in state funding during a June 26 presentation at the park.
The extra money is going toward the first and second phases of the project, Assemblymember Darshana Patel said at a press conference near where some of the construction is taking place.
“Rancho Bernardo Community Park belongs to every family, athlete, senior and child who calls this district home,” Patel said. “This $2.5 million brings taxpayer dollars back to the district to improve the park infrastructure that makes our community strong.
“I am honored to have secured state funding to support our parks and I will continue to advocate for funding that makes a tangible difference in our district,” she said.
